Engadget takes an extremely brief look at the new Microsoft Sync system at CES. Check out the video here.
Some of the new features include more highly integrated server-based services such as news, traffic info, and directions. The version of Sync shown in the video is the one that does not use a large touch screen. You’re probably wondering how you’ll see the map for your directions. Well, you don’t. There is no map. It just tells you where to go and you keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel where they belong!
Ray and I tested out Microsoft’s Sync In-Car Computer last year. Take a look at some of our videos. Sync is the only in-car computer system we’ve seen that can read incoming text messages to you off of your phone and allow you to respond to them with pre-made canned responses while driving.
Of course, using a Windows Mobile device as your in-car computer still offers plenty of other features not available anywhere else.
