Lost or Stolen Phone? No Problem!

With WinMo devices being somewhat expensive it only seems natural to want to protect them. Most people invest in cases, screen protectors, installing antivirus software like Flexilis, and some even invest in insurance (if it is available). But what happens to the information on your device if it becomes lost or stolen?

James Larry Gaines II has created Smartprotect, a mobile protection program with SMS Auto-Responder. Lets say you left your phone somewhere and cannot remember where you put it, just text your phone and get the exact location via GPS information (if your phone has GPS capability) or approximate location based on Cell Location.

This software is also equipped with a thief-prevention-system which will automatically SMS your partner phone number if the SIM has been changed from the registered SIM. There is also a setting to protect various folders if another SIM is installed, as well as delete all of the contacts saved to the device. The program requires a password which is AES-Encrypted and uninstall-proof (except for a hard reset). This program requires at least .NET 2.0. Full instructions on xda-developers.
