Most of you might not even know that there’s a free backup application made by HTC, called HTC Data Backup, as an alternative to other commercial or sophisticated same purpose programs.
HTC Data Backup has two main backup functionalities: Back up all data and Backup PIM database only, probably the most used user backup choices. They’re pretty self explanatory, all data backup will do a complete device backup and PIM database only will allow you to select what to backup, from Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Notes and Inbox, all of them or any combination. There are two options to set (well, really one): Storage Card is set as the only alternative of backing up to (which is because of a simple judgment, no use backing up to the Device itself since it’s what you will be restoring in case of a failure) but you can select a name for your backup.
There’s a restore tab where you can choose to Restore from your last backup or, in case you’ve got several, choose the one backup of your choice to restore your device to.
