How a Program for Pocket PC Can Keep the Mosquitos Away, and How to Get a Free Copy

File under: News
By: Brandon Miniman | Date: 8-Aug-07 | Comments

The program, called Mosquito Defence, claims to emit ultra high frequencies from a Pocket PC speaker (is this even possible?) to repel mosquitoes. Instead of trying to explain the science behind it, I'll let the developer do it:

These ultrasonic frequences protects you from the female mosquitoes that wants your blood! The program concept is based on the following scientific data and information: Only female mosquitoes require a blood meal and bite warm or cold-blooded animals. Acquiring protein through a blood meal is essential for egg production. Male mosquitoes do not bite, but feed on the nectar of flowers or other suitable sugar source.

Does this actually work? Let's find out!

The first 5 readers who respond to this post will receive a free copy of the program as long as they agree to tell us the results of the program's use within the next 10 days (anyone going on a camping trip?) - and we'll post the details to the front page!

If you want a copy for yourself, it's only $6 over at PocketGear.

Update: The following users will receive a free copy of Mosquito Defence and will have their results posted to the front page in about 10 days:

Stay tuned for the results - this could be a must-have app for Pocket PC!
