Apple today released iPhone Firmware 2.2 update for its iPhone and iPod Touch devices through iTunes, which promises some new features and enhancements, the most major being an update to the iPhone’s Maps application to include Google Street View, which first debuted on the T-Mobile G1 handset. Hopefully the feature will make its way to Windows Mobile and other operating systems in the near future.
Google Street View lets users view a photographic image of the street as if they were actually there. The picture shows an Apple Store in San Francisco’s downtown Union Square shopping district. Other enhancements include public transportation and walking routes.
