Windows Mobile users now have a tool of their own to measure vehicle performance called gMeter that will run on HTC’s accelerometer based devices: HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch HD.
gMeter can measure G Force (forward and lateral), calculate a vehicle’s horse power using GPS, measure acceleration time from 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) and it can draw a circuit on screen using the positioning system. All this information can be saved to a log file for later reviewing. For all this to be accurate, the device needs to be calibrated after being positioned in the vehicle.
While it was free in earlier version 1, as of version 2 it will cost you 15EU to get a license that will allow you to run this application at its full power. There is a trial usage mode too that will enable you to test and measure Acceleration G and Speed.
