Over at XDA, user Tuxhero has managed to do an Android 1.6 port to the HTC Touch HD. You’ll need to run the files from a storage card, and don’t be surprised if you run into a lot of bugs (it’s in Alpha).

Hopefully this will be the start of many (less buggy) ports of Android to Windows Mobile, thus giving those of us with Windows phones even more choice.
