The impressive PlayStation emulator for Windows Mobile, called FpseCE, has been updated to version 0.10.1. With the release, of course, comes a new, fan-made video to show off Dragon Punches, head shots and explosions. Some classic PS titles such as Tekken 3, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Time Crisis, Wipeout XL, and Grand Theft Auto 2 all get showcased on an HTC HD2. It’s cool how the emulator supports using the touch screen for rail shooting games, like Time Crisis, with your finger acting as the gun. The customizable control schemes look quite user-friendly as well. The emulator has evolved a lot since the initial release, that’s for sure.
The older version of FpseCE (.10) is still available for free, but unfortunately, the most current version (.10.1) is still locked down to supporters. Don’t let the minute change in version number fool you either, it’s actually been updated many times. Hopefully, we’ll see an updated free version on the horizon at some point. In the meantime, you can donate 5 to get access to the latest build of the PlayStation emulator from the developer’s site. Check out the detailed user manual (28 pages), if you’re interested.
(thanks for the tip, Jason!)
