Flashback: Remember These Screenshots?

In flipping through the content archive here at pocketnow, we came across the first leaked screenshots of Windows Mobile 6.5 back in November of 2008.

What at first seemed to be a photoshopped rendering, the screenshots turned out to be the real deal, although the final Windows Mobile 6.5 that we know today is quite different than the leaked concepts. In the Start Menu, gone are the honeycomb borders, the icons don’t fade off to the sides, the right softkey doesn’t say “move”, and the Phone icon doesn’t have a counter attached.

The sliding panel Today screen (Titanium) also came out a bit different to how it appeared in the leaks. There is no right-pointing arrow after each entry, there is no weather or Facebook plugin.

Did you like the leaks better, or are you happy with how the interface has evolved?
