Since the debut of the Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 at CES2008 it was speculated that the fresh panel interface of the device was going to take the Windows Mobile market by storm. Unfortunately for Sony Ericsson there has not been much development even though the company had given full support to programmers. So where are all these wonderful panels owners have been expecting?

They are in beta testing of course and in this video you get the first look of the new panels that will be available in the next few weeks.

The first panel is brought to us by the news giant CNN, which displays the top news headlines and weather in a stylish finger friendly interface.

The second panel is a sort of quick-launcher from Skype. It sits on top of the actual Pocket PC version of Skype for touch screen Windows Mobile devices.

The third panel is called On-The-Road which can record and track the X1 through the on board GPS. The panel ties directly with Google Maps to bring navigation and images of the trip. The image of the trip can later be sent through email or MMS message. The panel also has a basic media player. The final feature of this panel is a dialer interface that shows call history and gives a very touch friendly standard keypad.

The fourth and final panel is brought to us by Mytopia, the new online gaming community. The games included in this panel can either be single player or live multi player through a data connection. The service requires an online account which may be set up through a computer or the X1 itself.

The panels are just in beta stage at the moment and we will bring you links when they become public. Be sure to check out the new Evernote panel that is available now.
