DroppedBoxx: Newest Windows Phone Dropbox Client

Up until now, Ruttensoft’s CloudFiles has been the only source for fulfilling our Dropbox needs on Windows phone. If you haven’t heard, Dropbox is a very handy method of syncing and sharing files between computers and mobile devices. Well, it appears a new mobile Dropbox client, called DroppedBoxx, is being actively developed over on XDA-developers.

The early beta of DroppedBoxx already allows you to browse Dropbox folders and download files to your Windows phone (with an option to quickly email them). It can also upload files from your phone to your Dropbox folder. Similarly, you can choose to take a photo and upload it as well.

The current features work well as I was able to instantly access files on my device and also easily upload pictures and other files to my Dropbox folder on my PC. Future versions will get features like copying/moving files, syncing folders, recording audio for upload, creating folders, and more. Since it’s still in beta, DroppedBoxx 0.4.1 is free and can be downloaded from XDA-developers. Although it doesn’t have a complete set of features yet, it may be a good option for those who don’t want to pay for CloudFiles. It’s definitely an app to keep an eye on.

Current Features (v0.4.1):

- Login (of course)

- Browse Dropbox files and folders

- Download Files

- Download then email

- Upload files

- Take photo and upload

- Delete Dropbox Files

Future Features:

- Copy/move files around dropbox

- Sync Folders

- Record audio and upload

- Create new Folder

- Display account usage

- Track application (self) usage
