A Tool to Easily Rename Pictures Taken

File under: News
By: Anton D. Nagy | Date: 6-Sep-09 | - Comments
Pictures you take with your Windows Phone are usually saved as files called "IMAGE_XXX" (where XXX represents numbers) so it is kind of difficult to identify which one is the one you are looking for, especially if you have lots of them.

There's a new tool called IMAG to Date which is basically a batch renamer for pictures taken, renaming the default file names to MMddyyyyHHmm_RID (where RID is a Random ID) or other custom date formats. There are two versions of the app, one for .NET Compact Framework 2.0 and one for .NET Compact Framework 3.5, depending on the one existing on your device. After installation, IMAG to Date will ask you to set the default folder for taken pictures and from there on you're good to batch rename. Check the video below, courtesy of the software creator.
