A List of the Developers Supporting Marketplace Out of the Gate

We’ve learned a lot about Marketplace today. We finally got screenshots and a video of the Windows Mobile app store in action, and also got to dissect the UI a bit.

But what good is an App store if there isn’t any developer support? Well, for Marketplace, there is. Here are the companies that will have apps out of the gate in Marketplace:

- AccuWeather

- Associated Press

- CNBC

- Developer One

- EA Mobile

- Gameloft

- Glu Mobile

- Handmark

- Ilium Software

- JEYO

- Kinoma

- 3Deep

- Magmic

- Melodis

- Namco

- Pandora

- Resco

- SBSH

- Shozu

- Spb

- WebIS

- Zagat

It’s going to be exciting to see companies make Windows Mobile apps for the first time that have stayed away from the platform due to no ubiquitous distribution system. For the developers that have been making Windows Mobile software for many years (like WebIS, SBSH, Resco, and Spb to name a few), the Marketplace very well could provide a massive boost in sales over the next few years. If you’re interested, take a look at the Quote sheet (.doc format), where you can sense the elation of these veteran WinMo developers.
