Samsung’s Jack Of All Trades (i637) Unboxing

If you have recently seen the AT&T commercials with Ozzy Osbourne’s new personal assistant you probably know about the Samsung Jack. Like the Prince Of Darkness we have acquired one ourselves and here is the unboxing video of the shiny compact device.

The Samsung Jack is the successor to the BlackJack family of Windows Mobile Standard devices on AT&T’s network. The Jack has been improved to include a 528MHz processor and 256MB ROM and 256MB RAM with about 96MB user-accessible storage (compared to the BlackJack II’s 260MHz processor and 128MB ROM/256MB RAM). The device also has very snappy aGPS that locks onto satellites in just a few seconds. Another feature that sets the Jack apart from the crowd is the Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) chip that has not been seen in too many Windows Mobile Standard devices.

The first impression of the Samsung Jack was that it is a very sleek device with a much improved keyboard. The shiny surface is a finger print magnet and it feels a little slick in hand. The device is very light, hardly noticeable while in the pocket.

We’ll be back with more coverage on the Samsung Jack! Hardware is up next.
