Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 Is a Windows Mobile Standard Phone with 320 X 320 Screen

The Windows Mobile Standard non-touchscreen platform usually has a 240 X 320 resolution, but the Samsung Jack revival called the Omnia Pro 7330, destined for Europe, will be a Windows Phone with a screen resolution of 320 X 320 and Windows Mobile 6.5 on board.

The 320 X 320 square displays was popularized by the Palm OS-based Treos, and Palm later requested Microsoft to support the odd resolution display, bumping the 240 X 240 Windows Mobile Treo to 320 X 320touchscreen. Samsung also joined the touchscreen 320 X 320 fray with its Epix. The screen resolution on a non-touch device is a first.

All the glorious action is caught on tape at Phone Arena, with a photo preview. You can check out the video action at the beginning of this post.

Update: Thanks to reader moneytoo who states that the Samsung Propel Pro is actually the first Windows Mobile Standard device that sports the 320 X 320 screen resolution.
