the::unwired is reporting that Windows SideShow technology is coming to Windows Mobile.
Windows SideShow is a technology that allows basic information such as email, PIM, and calendar appointments to be displayed on a second screen without having to turn the main computer on or waiting for it to boot up or come out of hibernation.
While this is great, do we really need this? If you’re on a Windows Mobile 6 Professional device, you’re pretty much set–you’ve got your PIM and contact ready and email is synchronized via Exchange, POP, or IMAP. Windows Mobile is instant-on and so the technology here is redundant.
However, on a positive note, it is good that Microsoft is delivering more to the Windows Mobile platform and creating a good Windows ecosystem.
