As of today, the Windows Phone Developer Tools Beta is available from Microsoft so let all the Windows Phone 7 app developers get their hands dirty.
According to Laurent Bugnion, “the big change is that the multi-touch action now works great with the emulator” as opposed to the April release where things weren’t that good.
See below a video demonstration of how multi-touch works on the Beta emulator using a touch compatible notebook.
You can download them from Microsoft here. The Beta includes:
- Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone Beta
- Windows Phone Emulator Beta
- Silverlight for Windows Phone Beta
- XNA Game Studio 4.0 Beta
You can read more about the tools over at Windows Team Blog where you can also find out that starting July 19, they start shipping devices broadly.
