Samsung announced the Galaxy S Android 2.1 smartphone at CTIA with the proprietary TouchWiz UI. The Galaxy S will be a high-end device with a 1 GHz CPU, a super bright Super AMOLED touchscreen display, and some cool widgets to give you quick access to the day’s information. The device is slated to have its own electronics bookstore as well. The Galaxy S announcement comes hot on the heels of Samsung’s S Life teaser.
The Galaxy S will have plenty of power. Its 1 GHz chip will not be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon design, but will be an ARM Cortex A8 chip with a PowerVR GPU for performance.
