At today’s Verizon iPhone keynote, Verizon emphasized how its network is prepared to receive one of the most popular smartphones in history.
“We have advanced the capacity and built margin into it. We’re ready for this launch” was the anthem Verizon sang with clear reference to the issues AT&T had when it was practically over capacity. There’s clearly an ongoing war between the two carriers as AT&T wasn’t shy to state that a CDMA iPhone would be slow. Verizon is hitting back — on a sensitive spot — as they state: “We have designed this network for customers to have an optimum experience”.
On the other hand, we can be sure that this war is here to stay as Verizon’s collaboration with Apple seems to be a “a multi-year”, solid one. “Partnering with a giant of the industry” like Apple would be not only beneficial for Verizon and the phone manufacturer but also to the users and iPhone enthusiasts as now, they have a real opportunity to choose what they find and judge to be the best network with the most competitive prices, offerings and services while sticking to their smartphone of choice.
