A little more detail is now known about Verizon Wireless’ efforts with Google in releasing an Android tablet. The carrier went on record to say that it hopes to ship its Android iPad competitor this fourth quarter and that such tablets would come from industry smartphone veterans like Motorola, Samsung, and LG.
The carrier has also pledged five phones for its LTE 4G network by May 2011. Those phones are expected from Motorola, HTC, LG and RIM. Seeing that HTC and RIM are mentioned, we are expecting a few smartphones for Verizon Wireless’ LTE phone debut in 2011. The carrier has already begun testing its 4G network and is hoping to cover 30 markets and blanket 100 million users by the end of this year.
