The Toshiba TG01 is one of the hottest handsets of its time with a sleek form factor, large 4.1-inch resistive touchscreen display, and was one of the first smartphones to adopt the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, clocking in at 1 GHz. Now, Toshiba is finding it fit to introduce the TG01 successor, appropriately called the TG02, which is making rounds at the FCC. Like its predecessor, the TG02 still lacks the appropriate North American 3G bands. Hopefully, though, we’ll get to see what the handset will look like–perhaps with the oft rumored Windows Mobile 7–at Mobile World Congress in a few short weeks.
US users who want to adopt the Toshiba TG02 and give it a good home in their pockets can always fall back to slower mobile data speeds on GSM/GPRS/EDGE. It’s time like these that we envy out European and Asian brethren across the seas for getting more handsets and cooler handsets.
