Smartphones are funny devices: we use them as distractions to avoid social interaction (right?), we use them to outsmart our friends when we think we know better, and we use them to feel self-important. My favorite use of a smartphone is to distract myself when in an uncomfortable or annoying situation: AngryBirds while waiting for an elevator; email-checking while in the dentist waiting room; web-browsing when waiting to board an airplane. The Oatmeal has a very funny comic strip titled “Why I love and hate having a smartphone.” It’s not exactly safe for work (or children). Check it out in the source link below!
