According to a recent PewResearch document, the ownership of tablets nearly doubled in the Holiday season. The research talks about adults who own tablets and how the numbers grew from 10% to 19%.
Related to the details of the research, it was conducted pre-holiday including people older than 16, between November 16 and December 21; additionally, there are two other surveys where adults over 18 answered questions in January.
Joining Apple’s market leading iPad 2 tablet are the relatively recent Amazon Kindle Fire and Barnes and Noble Nook Tablet. The research also includes interesting information related to the demographics of tablet owners (gender, race, age, education and household income).
