T-Mobile will launch a tethering and Wi-Fi sharing add-on feature which will allow its users to – this time, in a legit and legal way – use their handsets to connect a computer or wireless device to the Internet using its network.
For $14.99/month you will be able to enjoy Internet on the go – when there are no other possibilities to connect – via your smartphone acting either as a tethered modem or WiFi hotspot. Paying the flat monthly will not be (just) enough as you will also need the following:
- 3G or HSPA+ compatible device to utilize the Tethering/Wi-Fi sharing feature.
- Unlimited Web feature with an MRC of $19.95 or higher.
- The $14.99 Tethering/Wi-Fi add-on feature (which is a separate add-on feature and in addition to the Unlimited Web feature).
The service will be available for both postpaid and FlexPay customers though FlexPay customers will need to have their Unlimited Web feature turned on. Happy (legal) tethering!
