Within recent years, the wireless industry is slowly switching to a pro-rated early termination fee so that users who are further into their contracts would be less penalized for canceling early. Although late to the game, Sprint has unveiled its pro-rated early termination fee (ETF) schedule. For customers signing up or renewing their contracts on or after November 2, Sprint’s early termination fee is $200 for the first six months. Beginning the seventh month, Sprint will knock off $10 of the $200 for every month thereafter. By the end, if you contract on or before the last month of your contract expiration, you’d be out $50 at minimum according to a report from mobileburn.
