While trademark filings often lead to new devices eventually, it is not always the case. On January 13, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USTPO) has granted Samsung two trademarks on the denominations “Joy” and “Fresh”.
The description says: “Telephones; smart phones; mobile phones; computer software fo mobile phones, portable media players and handheld computers”. It’s a pretty general description and no more details are available. If these will indeed be two new phones, we can expect something in the M-range of the company’s new naming convention (mid-tier), judging by the monikers.
However, MWC is just around the corner and we’re positive that Samsung will come to Barcelona with a handful of new phones. The rumored and highly anticipated Galaxy S III is highly unlikely to have such a common name but we’ll definitely keep you posted as soon as we learn more. They might as well be Windows Phones…
