Earlier this week, Samsung sent out invitations to a press event it’s got planned for tomorrow afternoon. We’ve yet to learn just what it has up its sleeves for that one, and now it’s already sending out invites to its next one, scheduled for Tuesday, May 24.
Unlike tomorrow’s event, which Samsung has revealed will be a joint venture with AT&T, there’s not any carrier attached to Samsung’s shindig later this month. We’d been thinking that this week’s announcement may have something to do with the Galaxy S II, as that’s the hot new Samsung model of the moment, yet to be introduced to US audiences. However, since that’s yet to be attached to any one carrier, it could be the case that Samsung intends to use the May 24 event to show off the S II, and tomorrow’s will be for something specifically AT&T; one suggestion we’ve heard thrown around is another Nexus S model, joining offerings on T-Mobile and (shortly) Sprint. Another possibility could be that we’ll here about the Infuse 4G tomorrow, since we’re expecting it to launch sometime this month.
We’ll have a better idea of what to expect once we see what happens tomorrow; if we don’t hear about the Galaxy S II then, you can bet that’s what Samsung is holding back for the end of the month.
