Yesterday we heard about the possibility that Motorola’s Droid 4 would go up for sale at Verizon on February 9. There wasn’t any leaked screenshot or roadmap to help back up that claim, but it certainly sounded like a plausible date to release the handset; we had heard rumors of a February release before, after all. Today some new evidence emerges that contradicts that date for the Droid 4 launch, and a separate rumor arrives that discusses Apple’s event plans for the next couple months.

This time, there’s a screenshot to back-up the Droid 4 launch rumor, claiming the phone will be available one day later than expected, on February 10. That’s unusual, since we’re used to seeing Verizon hardware debut on Thursdays, as February 9 will be. That said, we’ve no reason to doubt the authenticity of this image, so there could very well be something to it.

As for Apple, a rumor arrived about events the company is supposedly planning for February and March. The March event would be for a product launch – in this case, the iPad 3 – while all that was claimed about the one in February was that it will be a “strange” event. Strange, indeed. The possibility of a March iPad 3 unveiling is still one we’ll have to keep an eye on, but now it’s looking like the February event might not be happening. According to those with sources close to Apple, the company hasn’t any events planned for this month.
