After announcing last week that an update with a new set of levels was coming to Angry Birds Rio, Rovio has delivered on its promise, releasing the “Beach Volley” level set today.
This update, the first new pack of levels to be released since the app’s premiere, brings Angry Birds Rio up to version 1.1.0. So far, the only place that has it is for Android is Amazon’s Appstore; the Android Market is still carrying the initial release. This isn’t altogether surprising, since Rovio first launched Rio on Android as an Amazon exclusive.
As should be no surprise from the chapter’s title, this installment sees our feathered friends take to the Brazilian coast, facing off against a swarm of cheeky little monkeys with the help of Blu and Jewel from the titular film.
Rovio hasn’t made any official announcement since the new level pack came out, so we don’t have a sense of when to expect the update to propagate out to all platforms the app’s been released on thus far. Based on the initial roll-out, it shouldn’t take more than a week or two.
