After Angry Birds Valentine’s Day Edition news generated a lot of buzz, continuing the themed edition releases after Halloween and Christmas, Rovio is preparing another themed version, this time regional.
In a recent tweet, Rovio unveiled that together with 20th Century Fox, they’re preparing Angry Birds Rio, a full featured film to be in theaters on April 15. To commemorate the film, Rovio will also release a completely new game featuring 45 levels that take place in Rio, Brazil’s second largest city. According to the tweet, the game will hit app stores in March so hopefully iPhone and Android will be covered even if there will be no Windows Phone 7 variant at the moment. There’s also a teaser-trailer to go with it and from looking at the short video, the pigs seem to be gone but a terrible fight is about to develop against bird trafficking.
