GPS software maker Route 66 is wooing first generation Bada OS owners with a lifetime subscription to its mapping software for turn-by-turn guidance for a lifetime price of 30 EUR. Owners of the Samsung Wave will be able to join in with a good navigation deal, though not quite as good as free on Android with Google Maps with Navigation or OVI Maps on Nokia’s Symbian handsets.
Samsung Wave devices already ship with a pre-installed trial edition of Route 66, and users can opt to buy a 1-country map for 30 EUR, or regional maps of Western or Eastern Europe for 40 EUR, or the entire continent for 50 EUR. Speed camera database is included in the price for the first year and will cost 6 EUR per year to maintain.
