CES: Qualcomm Goes Dual-Core with Next-Generation Snapdragon

If you thought you’ve seen speedy in the HTC HD2 and the Google Nexus One, better fasten your seatbelts as Qualcomm has unveiled its dual-core ARM-based mobile chipset to compete against the likes of NVIDIA Tegra 2 and other mobile CPUs. There are two new CPU models, the first of which is an upgraded model of the singlec-core CPU clocking in at 1.3 GHz. The second model, the 8X72, is a dual-core chip that clocks in at 1.5 GHz. The new chips are due out by the end of the year.
