It looks like TechnoBuffalo got a hold of a prototype and unannounced BlackBerry Curve 9300 smartphone, which will pack a 3G radio into the consumer BlackBerry series that has thus far been reserved for the higher-end enterprise level BlackBerry Bold series. Research in Motion had previously reserved the Curve line, with its separated keys and more “clicky” keyboard” as a lower-end consumer line that eschewed the 3G radio compared to the 3G enabled contiguous keyboard model of the Bold.
The device is spotted as running the BlackBerry 5 OS and not the announced BlackBerry 6, which brings with it a better browser and Webkit integration.
Now, though the Curve brings 3G, it will probably still be distinct from the Bold with a lower resolution QVGA screen; the Bold sports a HVGA display that is non-touch.
