We’re all familiar with Windows Mobile smartphones being called Windows phones by Microsoft as part of its marketing campaign with Windows Mobile 6.5, but ITG is going a step further to debut a versatile Windows XP slider–similar to MIDs like the OQO–called the xpPhone. The device, which looks like an elongated HTC Fuze, will reportedly retail in China for the equivalent of $400 – $600. The device has tri-band 3G and should be compatible with AT&T in the US. It also has some custom UIs and a dialer for use in phone mode.
Hopefully, the phone has been optimized enough to last at least as long as a smartphone is in daily use.
