Some lines of unpublished source code on the Palm Canada website may indicate that the just-announced Palm Pre 2 is coming to AT&T in the US and Roger’s in Canada. Currently, the only two confirmed carriers to stock the Pre 2 are Verizon and France’s SFR. However, with stateside developers being given access to unlocked, GSM versions of the device — and with both CDMA and GSM variations recently passing through the FCC — it seems pretty likely that Verizon will not remain the exclusive provider forever.
Specifically, comments in the site’s code which read “The Palm Pre 2 phone is available on the Rodger’s (sic) network” and “Available on Verizon and AT&T” seem to indicate that a more widespread rollout is being planned. Currently Bell is the Canadian provider of choice for webOS devices, and while HP has confirmed that the Pre 2 will eventually land up north, no particular networks were specified.
Droid-Life yesterday claimed that its sources point to a November 11th launch for the Pre 2 on Verizon.
