While we’re campaigning for Windows Mobile ports to Windows Phone 7 Series, Palm’s on their own mission to get developers to port their iPhone apps to webOS based smartphones, such as the Palm Pre and the Pre Plus. According to Electronostia, “The kit’s approach, which runs native code within the platform’s web-based framework, is said by AllThingsD to be so direct that an iPhone game can be converted in a “matter of days.” Few changes are necessary, and the performance is purportedly as fast as on its native Apple counterpart.”
The tech news site also “attests” that some iPhone games–like Need for Speed–have very comparable performance on the Pre Plus as on the iPhone. Nearly three dozen games have been or are in the process of being ported.
