Orange UK has announced via twitter, that the Nokia N8 will be on store shelves this weekend. The N8 will also be compatible with Orange HD Voice.
HD Voice, which has also been confirmed for the Windows Phone 7 Omnia 7 from Samsung, is said to reduce noise during calls significantly — producing louder and clearer conversations. Orange claim that it is possible to hold a coherent conversation at football matches, concerts venues and other areas with loud background noise.
The Nokia N8 will also launch on Rogers in Canada in the coming weeks. A leaked slide has been uncovered showing the Nokia N8 slated for a Q4 2010 release. The slide looks like it has been taken from a sales training presentation. The 12-megapixel camera is highlighted as the main selling point of the device. It is apparently aimed at customers with high voice usage but light data requirements.
The Nokia N8 has a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, proximity sensor, 720p HD video recording and runs Symbian ^3.
