Nokia, Monster Partnership Tipped (Images)

Nokia and Monster Cable appear poised to enter into an accessories partnership, based on some images we’ve acquired. The first product from this tie-up seems to be a pair of over-the-ear headphones dubbed the Nokia Purity HD Stereo Headset by Monster. Interestingly, the mandate for the line’s branding campaign was to co-opt Monster’s supposed “cool” vibe onto an uncool company without appearing obvious — thus the “Monsterization” of a traditionally staid Nokia ad.

It’s not clear if, like Monster-sub-brand Beats Audio’s relationship with HTC, the upcoming partnership will move beyond co-branding to actually bundling Monster accessories in with Nokia hardware. What is clear is that Monster has definitely moved beyond purveyor of expensive, questionably-effective cables and line conditioning equipment to a major player in the consumer electronics accessory market.

We should probably hear more on this deal at Nokia World later this month.
