Both the Nokia X7 entertainment phone and the Nokia E6 business smartphone the Finnish company launched today are powered by the latest iteration of the Symbian platform called Anna (aka PR2).
Starting today, the platform once known as PR2 will be called Anna and brings some new and cool features like a faster browser, improved text input, revamped icons and the latest version of Ovi Maps. Included is the highly anticipated — often referred to as being late — portrait QWERTY input as well as a split-screen for moments in which you are entering text and you don’t want to lose sight of what you’re typing in.
Added are improvements to the Photo Gallery and business users will be happy to welcome instant messaging with Microsoft Communicator Mobile, full meeting request support in e-mail as well as hardware-accelerated device encryption. Check out the teaser below!
