A leaked advertisement image for the next generation Motorola Droid successor was leaked earlier and now we have a picture of someone’s hands holding the keyboard-less smartphone that appears in tablet form.
Rumors have it that Motorola will be using a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset instead of the Texas Instruments OMAP CPU in the original Motorola Droid. Other features, according to Android and Me, include “a 4.3-inch screen, 8MP camera (capable of shooting 720p video), 16 GB internal storage, and HDMI out.” Along with Android 2.2, it appears that an updated version of MOTO BLUR, the Motorola-made custom UI, will also be present, which would be a change from the current Motorola Droid as that device was a stock Android device sans any carrier or manufacturer customizations.
The tablet-based smartphone for Motorola with HDMI output for the US market–the Droid successor will also be headed for Verizon Wireless–has long been rumored under the codename of the Motorola Shadow.
