Nokia may have 1GHz-and-faster Symbian smartphone in its plans for the next couple years, but in the immediate future we can look forward to phones like the E6-00, which we’ve taken a couple looks at before but has now shown up with more pics and video than ever.
We first saw the E6 in a tacky golden champagne, then a rather nice black, and today you can see how the phone will look outfitted in silver and white. The eight-megapixel camera we knew about is confirmed, but it looks like it will be an extended depth of field system rather than one using an autofocus mechanism. The E6 will be capable of 720p video recording; you can check out a sample of the phone in action below.
Unfortunately, the source of these pics and video didn’t manage to gather any new specifications for the hardware. We had heard that the phone will be powered by a 680MHz ARM11 processor, but await confirmation. The source was able to verify that the E6′s tiny 2.6-inch screen will have a standard 640 x 480 VGA resolution.
The source made a couple attempts to upload videos showing him using the E6 in action, but sadly they’re very much out-of-focus. The still pics look great, at least, so check out a couple more below.
