Over 8,500 managers of sales and marketing teams from all over the world participated in Huthwaite’s online research survey called “Mobile Technologies in Sales”. The results show people who are easier to reach to close deals faster and easier.
While most companies (87 percent) still don’t provide tablets for their sales teams, 90 percent of sales personnel admit mobile devices help increase their productivity. Faster communication is stated as the biggest benefit of using mobile devices. Currently, 85 percent of company-delivered tablets are iPads, while BlackBerry still dominates the business smartphone market. Android the market share leader for consumers still has to prove itself in the business world. Among industries, the Pharma has the highest adoption rate for tablets, at 18 percent. Huthwaite recommends companies to have their sales teams armed with tablets and have their own mobile strategy, mobile friendly content and apps.
