Last night at a press event in New York City, Vin Rock and I got to preview a bunch of new Microsoft products coming out this year, including some new builds of Windows Phone 7. Being that we’re both fairly well-known celebrities, we got to go in early and check things out while everyone else stood outside in the muggy heat. Take a look at some of our video footage below.
There were a couple of Microsoft representatives showing off Windows Phone 7 on prototype hardware. The devices seemed a bit thick, but we hear the real phones that you’ll be able to actually buy later this year will be much nicer. The venue had some issues with network connectivity so you may notice some slowness on network-dependent features like Bing maps, but otherwise, the new operating system is looking to shape up very nicely. The Microsoft representative mentioned that he flashes new builds every day yet is still using the device as his personal primary phone.
In addition to some fresh Windows Phone 7 demos, Microsoft was also showing off some new Windows 7 PCs, a touchscreen Sony all-in-one, Office 2010, Office:Mac 2011, Zune, PC games, Windows 7′s “Play to” feature, Xbox 360 games, and the extremely fun Xbox Kinect games.
