For the past several days, LG Mobile has been posting some cryptic messages to its Facecbook page, counting down to a reveal scheduled for tomorrow. What clues has it offered so far, and what might we hope to see announced?
Since Thursday, LG has posted a series of notes, each accompanied by some text describing certain virtues, littered throughout with capital Ls. Four of the posts have videos associated with them, either movie trailers or clips related to UN agencies; it’s all quite odd.
Throughout these posts, LG talks about things we look for in smartphones. Qualities associated with ideal phones, according to LG, include “timeLess fuLfiLLment”, “perfection with detaiLs”, the combination of “extraordinary technoLogy with a ‘genuineLy compassionate’ heart”, and being an “esteemed vaLue”.
Now LG leaves us with those words and a large image of an L, promising to make everything clear tomorrow. We’ve already learned about LG’s E400, reveled as the Optimus L3, so maybe the company could be planning a whole series of L-designated Androids; L3 would suggest an L2 and L1, after all. It’s also possible this won’t actually be new smartphone hardware, but only something tangentially related to it. LG hasn’t said enough to absolutely convince us either way, but it certainly gives the implication that this could be a new handset.
