The leaks from AT&T’s roadmap continues yet again, this time with the LG Monaco, a device listed as shipping with Windows Mobile 7. It seems to be Touch Pro-like device with a slider that reveals a full QWERTY keypad, plus an interesting joystick off to the right. The screen is maxed out at WVGA and is 3.2″, or the same size as the Touch Diamond. It’s also running the tasty QSD8650 Qualcomm Snapdragon platform.
The release date is pinned at September, which, of course, doesn’t make sense, considering that 6.5 devices will be just showing up around then, but it’s very interesting to note that Windows Mobile 7…at some point in history…was slated to be launched around this fall. We’re seeing this hold true in many of these leaked slides. Instead, Microsoft pulled the “delay” string, whipped up WinMo 6.5 in eight months, and put 7 on the back burner until next year.
