Admittedly, we can’t say that HTC’s line of Brew MP-powered phones excite us, even though AT&T is getting the Freestyle soon (which we went hands on with at CES). What we’re looking at here might be the successor to the Smart, though it has a different button configuration which leaves us a bit confused. The original Smart had a back, menu, and call start/end key, while this handset has just a home button with call start/end. The earpiece area is unmistakably taken from the HTC Smart. It’s possible that Brew MP provides enough flexibility to let HTC change up the button configuration without impacting the usability of the operating system.
This is another one to watch when HTC delivers news at MWC in just a few weeks.
