An iPhone 4 obtained early by a user in the Czech Republic was put through the paces to reveal that the GPS provided quick lock times as well as great photo and video quality for a smartphone.
According to the user who obtained the iPhone 4 ahead of launch, the GPS lock time was described as “surprisingly quick” and a near instant lock was obtained. The iPhone does use cellular and WiFi triangulation when possible to assist in obtaining a GPS lock quicker.
An analyst said that suppliers say that the camera module in the iPhone 4 is “orders of magnitude more sophisticated than anything previously attempted in a smartphone.” You can view the video recording, of which the iPhone 4 is capable of capturing 720p HD video, below.
