We’ve already brought you a few sneak-peeks at a couple HTC handsets that are on-track for 2012 releases. So far, that’s consisted of some high-end Android hardware. Today we heard some new rumors about what the manufacturer has in store for 2012, and along with some additional Android gear, they claim that HTC will be releasing what could be the first LTE-enabled Windows Phone handset.
Supposedly, this Windows Phone device will be similar to the Titan’s hardware, with a 4.7-inch screen. There’s no name currently known for the phone, but the source behind this claim says that it will be hitting AT&T’s new LTE network on February 5; with that date so close, we’re likely to hear more about the handset in the very near future.
On the Android side of things, HTC may be planning a phone known as the Elite, or possibly the Congressional, for an early-April release. Like the LTE Windows Phone, AT&T is mentioned as the potential carrier to launch the smartphone. Details are sparse, and short of the unsurprising claim that the phone will run Ice Cream Sandwich, all we have is that it will be another HTC Android with Beat audio and feature some high-end hardware.
Look for more HTC handsets to arrive as 2012 goes on; this source also claims that the company plans to start things off slow, with few Q1 releases and the majority withheld until further on into the year.
