HTC has just sent out invitations for a party that it is holding in its home country of Taiwan on October 7th, though it is not at all clear if we can expect any devices to launch at the event. Specifically, the invite tells us to “come see what HTC has dreamt up.” which is a rather ambiguous teaser that could either refer to new hardware or simply an overview of current offerings. Since the invite bears the same artistic puff of smoke that adorned invitations for the September 16th Desire HD and Desire Z unveilings in London, we’re not super-confident that anything new is going to be revealed here, especially since Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 juggernaut won’t begin officially rolling until at least October 11th. Either way, we’ll be flying the whole Pocketnow team out to Taipei for round-the-clock coverage, on the off-chance that some HTC exec will drop a prototype unit and propel us to international fame and fortune.
