A hacker by the name of infinitemods has modded his Sprint HTC EVO 4G to wirelessly charge via the induction charging mechanism of the Palm Pre’s Touchstone charger. While the hack took infinitemods about thirty minutes to accomplish, the modder says it can be done in as little as ten minutes. The upside is that the EVO 4G won’t get overheated, an issue that’s fairly common in the Palm Pre when used with the Touchstone charging base. The downside, according to Android Central, is that “the magnets used to hold the Evo to the Touchstone mean the compass won’t work, and the battery cover sticks up just a tad.”
